  • Jaffna Troops Celebrate Sinhala and Hindu New Year -2021

    Sinhala and Hindu New Year festival was organized by the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna to symbolize the cultural unity between the communities, co-operation and harmony among soldiers on 14 April 2021 at the playground, Security Force Headquarters under the guidance of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu Commander Security Force - Jaffna. The officers and soldiers serving under the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna hands together to celebrate the auspicious events, giving prominence to the traditional New Year Games and other associated events.

  • Refurbished Vehicles are Handed Out in Jaffna

    On the invitation of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force Jaffna, the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc handed out repaired and refurbished vehicles for the use of Forward Maintenance Area (North) and battalions under command to the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, on Monday, 12 April 2021.

  • Chief of Defence Staff Meets Jaffna Resident Tri Service Veterans

    During the Jaffna visit of the General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army together with Commander Security Force-Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu met a group of Jaffna-resident Tri service veterans in retirement and expressed deep gratitude to them by awarding gift parcels on account of the festive season on 12 April 2021. Further, he highly commended the veteran’s yesteryear duty commitment and dedication to the nation.

  • Cornerstone For Pre-School Building Laid in Navatkuli

    Responding to the request made by the villagers during the public meeting with Commander Security Force -Jaffna at Navatkuli village on 30 March 2021, laid this cornerstone for a pre-school.Troops of 12th Battalion of the GemunuWatchwillprovide required manpower and technical expertise for the construction work under the supervision of the Commander 523Infantry Brigade. Further, Jaffna troops will provide materials for the construction work.

  • Foreign Employees Proceeding Home After Government Quarantine Process

    A number of 115 foreign employees and students flew from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bangladesh, Jordan, Qatar, Lebanon, Italy, Cyprus, and Dubai set off to their homes after completing two - week quarantine process at Vasavilan Quarantine Centre in Jaffna, on Monday, 05 April 2021. Having gone through the required quarantine procedures, they were awarded with quarantine certificates by General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Brigadier Harendra Peiris RWP RSP USP ndu. Soon after the awarding of certificates personnel who underwent the quarantine process appreciated the commitment and dedication of the army troops at Vasavillan Quarantine Centre.

  • 500 Mangrove Saplings Plant in Eve of International Forest Day

    The 14th Battalion Gajaba Regiment launched a Tree Planting Campaign as one more phase of the ‘Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak’ project, introduced by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of the Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army, in order to increase the National Forest Cover and to beautify the country. This campaign was launched covering the lagoon front of 200m in Nawanthurai Lagoon, Jaffna on 21 March 2021.

  • Assistant Defence Adviser in The High Commission of India for Sri Lanka Meets Commander Security Force - Jaffna

    Lieutenant Colonel Puneet Sushil, the Assistant Defence Adviser in the High Commission of India for Sri Lanka made courtesy call on the Commander Security Force Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu at the Security Force Headquarters on Friday, 12 March 2021.

    Major General Priyantha Perera during the interactive meeting briefed an overall picture of the status quo regarding detection of infected cases, security arrangements, community projects, contribution towards public infrastructure development, civil-military cooperation events, nation-building tasks, etc with special focus on house construction for the deserving and so on.

  • Commander Security Force (Jaffna) Visits Quarantine Centre At Vidaththapalai

    The Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and District Coordinator - COVID -19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu inspected the administrative function of Quarantine Centre at Vidaththapalai on Tuesday, 23 February 2021. A number of 229 foreign employees returned from Dubai are under going Quarantine process.
