Troops of the Security Forces Jaffna once again extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build two new houses to underprivileged families in Kollankaladdi and Uduvil South Jaffna after their plights were brought to the notice of Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces Jaffna.
Financial contribution for the construction of two new houses was granted by the National Housing Development Authority with the coordination of Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs while the troops belonging to the 10 Sri Lanka Artillery and 9 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry provided much-needed manpower for the construction work expeditiously under the supervision of Commanders of 511 and 515 Infantry Brigade.
Two charming house warming ceremonies were held on 30 August and Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku graced the ceremonies together with General Officer Commanding 51 Division and handed over the keys of the new houses to the beneficiaries Mrs. Jenadas Anusra and Mrs. Rajkumar Thatchajini.
After the house-warming ceremonies, dry ration packs and essential household items, required for these newly-opened houses were provided to the owners of the houses by the Chief Guest and members of the Security Forces Jaffna.
General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Commanders of 511 and 515 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Government Officials, beneficiaries and their family members, troops of the Security Forces Jaffna were also present during the inaugural ceremony adhering health formalities.
