A total of 166 Foreign Employees from Jordan who were in quarantine left Jaffna for their homes after completion of two - week long quarantine process at Iyakachchi Quarantine Centre in Jaffna, on 31 July 2020. Prior to release they underwent the medical procedures and received quarantine certificates.
The groups segregated according to areas of their residential location provided with Army transport facilities up to their destinations in Badulla, Colombo, Galle, Polonnaruwa, Monaragala, Rathnapura and Hambanthota areas along with meals, snacks, water etc. Police provided assistance to escort the convoy of 12 vehicles.
The quarantine process was conducted by the troops of Security Forces Jaffna under the guidance of the National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) headed by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the NOCPCO, Chief of the Defense Staff and Commander of the Army.
Commander Security Forces Jaffna, General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Senior Officers and Troops witnessed the departure formalities.
