In line with the “Madin Full Moon Poya day’s programmes” and with the intension of enhancing the reconciliation among the communities, the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna organized a provision of dry ration packets for under privileged families, school items for needy children and baby items for pregnant women on Sunday, 28 March 2021. This donation programme was held at the Tissa Rajamaha Viharaya Temple premises, Kankesanturai on absolute directions and supervision of the Commander Security Force–Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera.
The donations were sponsored by Miss Tushara Thenuwara, Professor Samitha Manawadu and Professor Nimal De Silwa and they are the officials of Historical Tissa Rajamaha Viharaya Religeious and Social Development Charity Institute.
At the beginning of the ceremony religious observances were carried out and it was followed a special sermon in Tamil language on Buddhist Philosophy by Ven. Bogawanthalawe Rahula Thero. Commander Security Force Jaffna graced this occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered a speech in Tamil language. He highlighted that this donation programme was organized on the conceptual guidelines of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva. Further, Commander expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in making the donation programme a success.
Rajakeeya Panditha Ven Thalalle Chadrakiththi Thero, a number of Buddhist monks, General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division, Commander Forward Maintenances Area (North), Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and Parents of the students were present during the occasion.
