Dry Rations Distributed Among Displaced and Assistance for Low-income Families

Security Force Headquarters in collaboration with the donors of Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association (SMCHIA) made donations for the displaced people due to adverse weather conditions prevailed in Jaffna Peninsula. The donation programme was arranged by the General Officer Commanding 55 Division upon the directions and guidance of the Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi on 06 April 2019 at Nelliadi Maha Vidyalaya and Iththavil Maha Vidyalaya in Jaffna. Mr Lawrence Fernando, Mr Viduri Fernando, Mr Sanjeewa Gunaratne and Mr Meril Fernando of Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association contributed for the donations which benefited a number of 385 deserving families. During the donation programme, each family received a dry rations pack and an electric rice cooker. The total cost of the full pack was approximately Rs.7000.00.

The Commander Security Force - Jaffna, General Officer Commanding 55 Division, Divisional Secretary of Point Pedro Mr Alva Pillai Sri, the donors, Government Officials, Army Personnel and residents were present at the programme.
