English Language Course Ends Successfully


A three-months course to improve English Language Skills of Soldiers serving within the Jaffna Peninsula was conducted by Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna from 10 December 2018 to 18 February 2019. 36 Soldiers from various regiments benefitted out of the course which included many areas of the language and its application. The 1st in order of merit was secured by S/725841 Private Dhananjana KDG of the 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps while the 2nd and 3rd places were secured by S/279803 Corporal Bandara AAPN of the 6th Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Signal Corps and S/2076305 Recruit Kumara KWIM of the 5th Battalions of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps.

The termination of the course took place following a Variety Show by the Students and the Certificate Awarding ceremony was graced by Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi on 18th February 2019 amidst a large number of Military Personnel including General Officer Commanding 52 Division, Major General Laksiri Waduge, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers.
