Army Donates Exercise Books to Deserving Students

The Army donated 250 packs of exercise books to deserving students of four schools in the Jaffna Peninsula on 19th January 2019. The programme was carried out on instructions of the Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi with a view to uplift the education of the deserving students in the peninsula.

Students from low-income families of the AMTM School and Vigneshwara College in Tholpuram, the Victoria College in Chulipuram and Saivapiragasa Vidyalaya in Moolai received these donations at ceremonies held at Community Centers of Kaakathivu and Tholpuram.

The donations were sponsored by the Bosath Samaja Sathkara Padanama along with the Station Master of the Railway Station of Nailiya, Mr. Chandana Thilakasiri and Ravindra Dissanayake. The books were distributed by Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, Brigadier Priyantha Gamage.

Senior Military Personnel were present during the occasions in addition to the Teachers, Students and Parents of the Schools and Residents of the Areas.
