The Sri Lanka Nippon Educational and Cultural Centre (SLNEC) in collaboration with Sri Lanka Army organized an awarding of scholarships and distribution of stationary items for needy students in Jaffna District on 21st December 2018 at an occasion held at the Sri Nagavihara Temple in Jaffna. 28 Students from Jaffna, Point Pedro, Navatkuli and Mullaitivu who have excelled in studies were awarded with monthly scholarships and given with stationeries sufficient for the upcoming year. Vouchers of School Shoes were also distributed to these needy students. The event was organized under the patronage of the Secretary General of SLNEC, Ven. Meegahathenne Chandrasiri Thero along with the Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi. A number of Buddhist monks, Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Senior Army Officers, Officers, and Parents of the students were present during the occasion.
