The Army signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Lions Club 306 B2 for the implementation of a Jackfruit Tree (Artocarpus heterophyllus) Park in Jaffna. The programme is to be carried out in collaboration with the Hadabima Authority while 50,000 Jack Tree Seedlings are expected to be planted in the Jackfruit Park titled 'Kos Park' in Jaffna. Brigadier Ajith Elwatte, on behalf of Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi, signed the MoU with Lion Dr. M Ramajeyam, the District Governor of Lions District 306 B2 on 3rd December 2018. The International President of the Lions Club Mrs. Gudrun Yngvadottir was also present during the occasion.
