The Annual Procession and 'Katina Pinkama' of Samurdhi Sumana Maha Viharaya in Jaffna Ends Successfully

The Annual Procession and Katina Pinkama of Samurdhi Sumana Maha Viharaya in Navatkuli, Jaffna was held on 30th and 31st October 2018. The set of events commenced with the Procession being paraded along the streets in Navatkuli. The much needed guidance was given by the Incumbent of the Temple Shasthrapathi Hanwelle Rathnasiri Thero and Commander Security Force - Jaffna Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi while the 523 Brigade of the Army organized the set of events.

The Procession was attended by 32 Monks while the programme came to an end following an all-night Chanting of Pitith and the Katina Cheewara Pooja (ritual offering of new robes) towards the clergy.

Military personnel including Commanders of 51 and 52 Divisions, members of the Police and a large number of devotees of the area were seen during the two-day programme.
