Security Force Jaffna Celebrates the 69th Anniversary of Sri Lanka Army

The 69th Army Day Celebrations at Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna was held on 10th October 2018 with the participation of Commander Security Force Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi and All Ranks serving at the Headquarters premises.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of the Army Flag and Security Force - Jaffna Flag by Commander Security Force - Jaffna and Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Rasika Karunathillake. The recitation of the Army Anthem took place followed by a two-minute silence observed in honour of all Fallen War Heroes who made a supreme sacrifice with their lives on behalf of the motherland. Thereafter, the reading of Army Commander's Army Day Message to mark 69 years of success in protecting the territorial integrity and securing the sovereignty of the country, took place amidst the troops.

Subsequently, a Mango Sapling (Mangifera indica) was planted at the Headquarters premises by the Commander of the Security Force, which marked the end of the day's programme.
