Visit of the Officer Cadets of the Sri Lanka Military Academy to Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna

Sixty Officer Cadets of Intakes 85 and 86, from the Sri Lanka Military Academy paid a visit to Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna on 9th and 10th August 2018. The visit was scheduled as a part of their training curriculum.

On behalf of the Security Force Commander - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi, Colonel General Staff warmly welcomed the Officer Cadets to the Headquarters. They were briefed on the role and responsibility of Security Force - Jaffna, the present situation and the efforts taken by the military to develop the livelihoods of the people to enhance the government reconciliation mechanism in the Jaffna Peninsula in the post-conflict scenario.

Later they visited the Nallinakkapuram Village which was constructed by the Army and handed over to the landless Internally Displace People in Jaffna. The Jaffna Fort, Araly Point, Ponnale Pond and the Naguleshvaram Kovil were the other places of interest in Jaffna visited by the Officer Cadets. At the end of the session, Officer Cadets of Intake 85 and 86 presented a memento as a token of appreciation on behalf of their visit.
