Ranaviru Commemoration day 2018 Held in the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna

The Ranaviru Commemoration Day held on 18 May marks the capitulation of ruthless terrorism in this country in the year 2009. The Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna held the Ranaviru Commemoration Day 2018 headed by the Security Force Commander Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi on 18 May 2018 with the participation of all ranks.

The event was followed by the National Anthem and Army song, and held a moment of silence to honour the sacrifices made by the soldiers to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. Subsequent to the reading of the of the Army Commander's Message, the Security Force Commander addressed the troops at the event. There was an all ranks lunch to commemorate the day too. In addition, a Bodhi Pooja at the Security Force Headquarters and a Pooja at Mahavadipuram Hindu temple were held to share merits for the fallen heroes and speedy recovery of disabled.
