School Items Donated for the Students in Jaffna

Some school item packs worth of Rs.5,000.00 each were distributed among 25 children of low-income families living in welfare centres at Yogapuram and Selvapuram in Jaffna District. Two benefactors, Mr Madawa Manchanayake and Mr Thusitha Fernando participated alongside with the 52 Division staff on 24 February 2018 to provide school items. This event was conceptualised by the Commander, Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Dharsana Hettiarrachchi and supervised by the Brigade Commander, 521 Brigade. Colonel Sujeewa Hettiarachehi. The programme was organised by the 22 Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard, under the leadership of the Commanding Officer, Major Lalith Samarakoon. During the event, The General Officer Commanding 52 Division, Major General Laksiri Waduge graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also, School Principals, Teachers, Parents and other military representatives participated in the event.
