Foundation Stone for 'Kalana Mithuru Seya' At Sri Samiddhi Sumana Viharaya, Navatkuly

Brigadier Tikiri Dissanayaka, Brigade Commander 523 Brigade, laid the foundation stone for the 'Kalana Mithuru Seya' Stupa (pagoda) which is being erected in Sri Samiddhi Sumana Viharaya, Navatkuly on 14th May 2017 with the blessing of the Maha Sanga.

A brief ceremony highlighted the importance of the project as a monumental replica of 'Thuparama' Seya.

The Dhamma sermon and other related religious activities were conducted by Ven. Hanvalle Rathnaseha Thera, the Chief Incumbent Sri Samiddhi Sumana Viharaya. Ven. Navadagala Padma Kiththa Thissa Thera, the Chief Incumbent, Sri Naga Viharaya, Jaffna and 45 monks were also present at the occasion. The Pinkama was arranged by the Sri Lanka 'Kalana Mithuru' Buddhist organization and Sinhalese living in Navatkuly village with the assistance of 523 Brigade.

The Stupa which is being erected spending Rs.10million is to be completed within a period of one year. Troops of 523 Brigade of Allarai provided meals for all devotees took part in the event.
