CIJW JCC Course No 18 education Visits to SF (J)

Eighteen local Officers including sister services and four foreign Officers (India, Pakistan & Nepal) belong to Counter Insurgency Jungle Warfare - Junior Command Course No 18 (CIJW - JCC) at Army Training School, Maduruoya paid a visit to the Headquarters Security Force (Jaffna) - HQ SF (J) on 27th and 28th March 2017.

On arrival to the HQ SF (J), Student Officers were warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Chaminda Galappaththi, the General Staff Officer I (Coord), Lieutenant Colonel Nishantha Muthumala, the General Staff Officer I (Ops & Trg) and Major Vipula Bandara, the General Staff Officer II (Training), HQSF (J).

Later, a presentation on "Handling of Post War Scenario in SF HQ Level" was conducted by Colonel Udaya Kumara, the Colonel General Staff Officer HQ SF (J). Afterwards, they visited 51 Division and Lieutenant Colonel Bathiya Madanayaka, the General Staff Officer I (Coord) 51 Division conducted a presentation on "Operation Riviresa" and they visited to witness significant locations of the conflict.

In the end of the session, Student Officers presented a memento to the Brigadier Mervyn Perera, the General Officer Commanding 51 Division as a token of appreciation on their visit to SF (J).

As the last leg of the first day itinerary, the Officers participated in an evening session at Thalsevana Holiday Resort.

Next day morning they visited the De-mining site at the Muhamalai area which is handed by 10 Field Engineer Regiment and they left the Jaffna peninsula to continue their educational visit.
